OK, you have purchased that champion fleece or have been given fiber right off the sheep, camel, llama, etc., or have been saving the combings from your beloved pet.
Now what?
This 2-day class will cover the sorting, cleaning, combing/carding and preparation of your fibers for handspinning.
Day 1 – How to sort and wash various fibers using many different techniques and tools. Includes storing raw fleece and skirting a raw fleece, and how to tell if a fiber is damaged or just dirty. Prepare to get dirty.
Day 2 – Using the fiber washed on Day 1, we will now use handcards, drumcards, combs, flickers, and other tools to prepare the fiber for spinning. Also included will be a discussion on the pros and cons of sending your fiber to a commercial processor.
